If your family business is broke, it is not the President's fault. It was most likely going broke anyway because of the economy which he did not cause and though it is slowly coming back, it has a way to go. You are not alone. Maybe you should look to the do nothing Republican Congress who refused to pass the Jobs Bill and anything else the President tried to do for America. The only reason the Healthcare was passed was because the Dems still had a majority in Congress before 2010. . Put the blame where it is due. The Republicans in the White House would have probably been a larger disaster.
But.... Obama said that it was the government that built the business...not the owner. So.. you cannot really take credit for the business if you cannot take the blame for its fall. Sorry Maricia.
Sorry Andrew, if you had actually listened to the President's entire speech instead of exerps taken out of context, you would have heard him say, You did not build it yourself, you had help from those who built the roads, the electricty, the infrastructures that allowed you access to your property. He did not imply you did not have the building built and etc. Many people had a part in helping you. The government only hires for governmet jobs. They hire government employees that live in or near the communities where the government business is located. People who are qualified for those jobs. They also hire private contractors for many of their jobs. Contractors who own and work in other private businesses. Other than government jobs, they are all private businesses that hire people. Maybe you should do some research about how your government works and listen to the person actually making the speech before you correct others.
