A Three-Part Solution to Congress’s Ineptitude

Congress should be working for the American people to make our country better

As a fed-up voter, here is what I think needs to happen to Congress:

1. Let the nation decide the big issues. Put an amendment on the November ballot and let the people vote. Majority wins!

2. You want to touch my social security? Then I want to touch yours. Congress works for the American people — Why are their benefits better than mine? Put Congress on Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare, then they’ll find a way to fix it.

3. We should get to vote on our Congressmen’s pay increases. I can’t go into my job and tell my boss I’m giving myself a raise. Come up with a number and put it on a ballot —  the American people will tell you how your job performance is.

Congress should be working for the American people to make our country better. Compromise is not a bad word — it’s how things get done. If 5-year-olds can do it, adults should be able to, as well.
