I never thought that I’d have to have this conversation with my 10 year old African American son. We constantly tell our children to treat others how we would want to be treated. Having to explain to him that there are people in this world who will judge, hate, and want to harm him because of the color of his skin and the way he is dressed dumbfounds me.
