Prisoners Should Not Be Entitled to Sex Change Operations

Prisoners don't deserve to have sex-change surgeries paid for by taxpayers, while many law-abiding citizens can barely afford their own surgeries

Prisoners shouldn’t be entitled to sex change surgeries, especially in the case of Michelle — formerly Robert — Kosilek, who is serving a life sentence without the option of parole for murdering his wife in 1990. This “man” lost a lot of his privileges and rights when he was convicted of murdering his wife. Getting a sex change from taxpayers’ dollars not only isn’t right, but there is so much more that our money should go to. Also, I’m not convinced that it’s medically necessary to give him a sex change. “Medically necessary” is getting a heart transplant, or having a brain tumor removed. He doesn’t deserve to have this surgery paid for by taxpayers, while many law-abiding citizens can barely afford their own minor surgeries.
