Just wanted to say you’re overlooking the Republican Party as TIME’s Persons of the Year. After this election, this group is at a crossroads for the future of the party. The loss was definitely a defining moment, and you can see the beginnings of a long internal fight that will more than likely last until the next election. It’s been awhile in modern politics since we’ve seen a party fight among themselves for an identity. Who will win — moderates, extreme conservatives, Tea Partiers, etc.? Out of all the candidates you’ve selected, I think the Republican Party is your clear and obvious, but overlooked choice.
