A Romney victory will further entrench the Republican Party’s extreme conservative wing, which Romney has embraced despite his recent nods to the center. And his advocacy of lavish military spending beyond our national security needs means that significant deficit reduction will require severely diminishing our capacity to use government resources to enhance the quality of life in America.
