It’s Time to Stop Protecting Guns

Americans have become hostages to anger and refugees of fear

The theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., is yet another case of senseless violence in America. Americans have become hostages to anger and refugees of fear, not only to erratic and insatiable violence, but also to the never-ending argument over the right to bear arms. While this may be a right guaranteed by the Second Amendment, when such freedoms become infringements of public safety, it’s time to prove responsibility to carry such devices. I can’t believe with all the killings since Columbine, we still have individual and NRA arguments protecting the gun. Our society is inundated with shallow people who crave attention and will do anything to achieve it. My heart and soul, thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and their families.
