The Harassed Can Have Hope

In the face of death threats, a Boston transsexual encourages bullied teens

Good Afternoon. I am a transexual who lives in the Boston area. I have been following the news the last couple of months, and was alarmed at the number of teenagers that have taken their lives due to being bullied at school or by their peers. Recently I experienced the same harassement—only I am not a teen.

There was an incident with a female neighbor who threathed to have her boyfriend come up and put a bullet in my head. I had to obtain a restraining order and move. The Boston Fair Housing Center along with the Attorney General’s office is handling it at this point. I really don’t see this case going very far because my former landlord is a prominent retired attorney and his son is on city council. There were numerous police complaints against this tenant, and nothing was done about it.

I would like for these kids that are being bullied to know that they are not alone, that there are other transgendered people who are fighting for our rights as U.S. citizens.

Thank you for your time.
