The failed logic of Jose Antonio Vargas’s article, “The Problem with the World ‘Illegal'”, is related to the use of forged, stolen or falsified documents. The misuse of Social Security numbers is clearly illegal. For the author to admit that he and most other undocumented immigrants forge green cards and other legal documents means that undocumented persons are knowingly committing crimes and are thus illegal immigrants.
