Charles Arthur “Art” Smith is an American chef with an expertise in Southern cuisine. He has worked for former Florida governor Bob Graham, Jeb Bush, and was the personal chef to Oprah Winfrey until 2007. He is the recipient of two James Beard Awards. Along with his husband, Jesus Ramon Salgueiro, and Charles Annenberg Weingarten of the Annenberg Foundation, Smith created Common Threads, an after-school healthy cooking program for at-risk kids, which is now running in three states. Smith can be seen on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters 4 and ABC’s Time Machine. He is a best-selling author and his newest healthy cookbook, The Chef Art Start, is due out in spring 2013.
