Sonja Lyubomirsky

Sonja Lyubomirsky (A.B., Harvard University, summa cum laude; Ph.D., Stanford University) is Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Riverside. Her research – on how people can become happier — has been honored with a Science of Generosity grant, a John Templeton Foundation grant, a Templeton Positive Psychology Prize, and a million-dollar grant from NIMH (with Sheldon). Lyubomirsky’s two books from Penguin Press, The How of Happiness (2008) and The Myths of Happiness (2013), have been published in more than 30 countries. Her work has been written up in hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles, and she has appeared in multiple TV shows, radio shows, and feature documentaries in North America, South America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.  She lives in Santa Monica, CA, with her family.
