The website Crowdtilt, founded by James Beshara, has earned a lot of attention in its short life by making crowdfunding easy and personal. Beshara brought co-founder Khaled Hussein on board to form Crowdtilt in 2012. Unlike similar site Kickstarter, Crowdtilt gives people the power to fund anything, from social justice causes and development projects to party buses and tailgates among a small group of friends.
Correction: Due to an editing error, the original version of this story misstated when Crowdtilt became a company. Co-founders Beshara and Hussein launched the company in 2012.
