“Killer Clown” John Wayne Gacy, convicted of murdering 33 young men and boys during the 1970s, was executed via lethal injection at an Illinois penitentiary in 1994. The fate of his body is unknown, although there are reports that his corpse was cremated and the ashes given to family members who have chosen stay out of the spotlight. But one of Gacy’s organ has had a more public life: Chicago psychiatrist Helen Morrison, who testified to Gacy’s insanity at his trial, kept a portion of his brain in her basement for years.
